ICAEW - Institute Of Chartered Accountants In England And Wales.

The ICAEW or Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales was established in 1880 by Royal Charter. This organization has a member of about 140,000. Almost 15,000 members of these people work and live outside UK. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales has 9,000 students. This institution is a member of CCAB or Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies that was formed by the bodies of major accountancy professionals in Ireland and UK in 1974. All the members of the institution are qualified accountants and they have all undergone tests and trainings to pass the qualification test. If an accountant is qualified, they will be automatically a member of the institution.

ICAEW : How To Be A Member.

If you want to be a member of this institution you must first belong to the ICAS, ICAEW, ICAI or ICAP in order for them to be a chartered accountant in UK. The ICAEW or Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales has two main offices in UK; one of the main offices is in Central Milton Keynes and another one in Moorgate, London. It was in 2009 when they opened the regional offices in Dubai and Singapore in order to support the members of this institution in Asia. It was then followed in 2011 by Beijing. It was in the mid-19th century when the role of accountants in Wales and England was restricted on the bookkeepers in which the accountants were the ones responsible to maintain the records of other business people has sold and purchased.

It is not easy to maintain a good organization, the ICAEW also undergone several challenges, but they all combat to make their organizations work. In order to improve the status and to combat the criticism of their low standards, the accountants in Britain formed their professional bodies. This is how the ICAEW or Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales was formed. There are many accountants today, and if you want someone to help you, you must choose the one who has the right working experience and has expertise in accounting.

Trainings And Requirements.

It is not easy to enter this institution because you need to have at least 450 days of working experience. You also need to pass the requirements and the exams that they need. There is a series of examinations that you need to pass. The working experience must be between 3 to 5 years, and it should be approved by the employer. The examinations have two stages, which include the advanced stage and professional stage. The members of the equivalent bodies in some countries like Switzerland and European Economic Area can also be admitted to be a member after they passed the aptitude test, it is provided by the citizen of Switzerland or EEA state. All ICAEW members will have their designations FCA or ACA after their names.
