Why do we limit the use of cushions to the sofa. Cushions can find a use in almost any room, from the dining room to the living room to the bedroom. They are the perfect accessory when you need a splash of color in an otherwise dull room.

If you are following so far, you may want to know where to start. Take a quick trip to any home store and do a little shopping. The ideas you see there may inspire you to become a fashion designer for your own home.

In the store you will want to visit the home fashions department. Do not forget that there are other options for shopping online. The variety that you will find there is astounding.

Cushions are available in many shapes and sized from a postage stamp to seating for two. Many take the traditional round shape, but others are found in the shape of flowers, trees or animals. You will find them printed in patterns or solids or even with a favorite cartoon character printed on the cover.

So how do you choose. Where can you use all of those fabulous cushions. The options are many, but here are just a few suggestions.

Start in your living room or family room. The kids will love those animal shaped floor cushions that are great for their lounging. Do not forget to add cushions to the antique rocking chair of along the hearth for extra seating.

Keep a few extra cushions lying in the corner for additional seating when you have a full house. The kids will love them when friends are over for a visit. In fact they may prefer the cushions to the actual furniture.

Add a few extra cushions to the chairs and sofas also. They will work wonders for those persons who find your furniture too large for comfort. A small cushion in the lumbar region of the back is a great way to give the back needed support.

Older cushions can have new life with fabric wrapped around and tied in a knot in the front. The big knot adds a lot of depth to the pillows. Even a bright pillow case can be added and folded over in the back for a great look.

Cushions in the bedroom add a great splash of color. Solid colored comforters go great with printed or even multicolored solid cushions. For television viewing add a chair back pillow. It has a back and arms just like your favorite chair, just no seat. Other cushions may just be for decoration and stacked in the corners when you are not using them.

For the dining room, comfortable cushions make hard dining chairs more enjoyable. The barstools can also benefit from these comfortable pillows. In fact, the family may spend more time at the table visiting if they have comfortable cushions. You might even find cushions that coordinate with the table cloth.

Cushions are great additions for the home decor. Find some today to add new life to rooms that need to be filled with fun and laughter.
