After years of going to New York City, NASCAR moved its annual awards banquet for the Sprint Cup Series to Las Vegas starting with the 2009 season. Again this season, the banquet had a buzz in Las Vegas that never existed in New York. A perfect example of this was the achievement lap up and down The Strip.
The victory Lap started at Planet Hollywood and headed up to the Wynn before circling back to the Hard Rock Hotel. since the drive down the Vegas strip, Kyle Busch and the rest of the Top-12 Sprint Cup drivers participated in an entertaining question and answer session called NASCAR After the Lap at the theater in the Hard Rock Hotel.
As for the banquet itself, Busch took to the stage for one biggesthe largest entertaining speeches of the night. While disappointed on how the season ended, Busch still made surall the world all the world know that he and the entire M&M's team had a lot to be proud of.
While things didn't end up liked we had hoped for our #18 M&M's Toyota, we still had a special year that included three trips to achievement lane and finishing off the weekend sweep at Bristol said Busch. A big thanks to Dave Rogers and all the world on the 18 team for the effort you put in all year long and the sacrifices you and your family have made for us to be champion. To Coach and Pat, JD and Melissa, thanks for allowing i to be a part of your extended family. To all at Joe Gibbs Racing, i really appreciate all the world the persistent dedication for a lasting team goal to win races and contend for championships. Thanks for allowing me to be your driver and I'm always appreciative of your stimulate.
Busch also used the opportunity to thank his JGR teammates while interjecting a bit of humor at the same time.
As all the world knows, we have such great teamwork at JGR, so plenty so, that the 11 guys offered to take my car back to the shop after it made its way onto their lift gate after the All-Star race said Busch. Thanks for the lift guys. Seriously though, I've got some big teammates to thankful for as well in Denny Hamlin (congrats), and Joey Logano.
While the 2010 season is at this moment behind us, the 2011 Sprint Cup season is right around the corner. The season kicks off Feb. 10-20 with the traditional Speedweeks at Daytona (Fla.)
