You want a web-site but you have a strict budget and schedule to adhere to. Today is the most compelling time to begin to build a venture by using a theme. Lets find out what would be the main three strengths relying on the template approach:

1. Tight budget

2. Tight timeline

3. Not entirely certain of your needs

One of the most time consuming, thus high-priced part, of developing a site are the design, look, feel and ethos of the site. Besides the client need to explain these elements to the designer but the designer in fact has to understand this and not go off on a creative tangent that is not in line with the clients requirements. Hence using the theme method irradiates (or at least minimizes) this nebulous part of creating a internet site.

The client can take a look at a number of ideas and be aware of options. Given that they're checking out a plethora of alternatives they themselves can certainly realize the strengths and weaknesses of each web template for their business. Such understanding allows a more constructive discussion between designer and the client. This element is especially effective when the client doesn't have a good idea of what it is that they want.

Sometimes when clients are working with web templates there is a feeling that designers don't need to be paid for their services anymore. To my mind it is inaccurate. The role of the designer has to change to involve the following services:-

1. Manage client expectations. It is really important for the client when the designer explains the importance of not changing the design of the theme too much. For example such small modifications like the colour of the web template can change the complete look and feel of the site.

2. Having added technical knowledge that will aid the clients business. The designer needs to be able to advise the client of issues such as1. Search engine optimisation.

2. Search engine marketing tactics.

3. Inputing Meta data on the site to make it search engine friendly.4. pluses and minuses of having a flash site vs. a HTML site.

5. Way of developing an online shop and issues that need to be considered.

Therefore the designer plays an integral role in the customization of the site. The more experienced the designer is in these issues the better web site the client will have.

It is a really hard question to be answered on - which kind of web theme is better to use. It really depends on the clients requirements. To my mind among the best themes would be those that are written neatly in easy to edit language. Nevertheless, one cannot see the source code before the template is purchased.

Also using HTML templates can generally be easier to edit and manipulate.

Always go for web templates written in CSS, cascading style sheets, it makes basic cosmetic modifications in potentially 1000s of places throughout your website simple and fast.

Designers have a great experience in buying web themes thats why they are certainly know that some contributors write in an easy to edit format. This can be beneficial for the client as well as for the designer to choose more templates from these contributors.
