As the stage hypnosis show continues, you will notice more volunteers being disqualified. Towards the end of the stage hypnosis show, there are usually only a few volunteers remaining. These are the volunteers who end up clucking like chickens and doing embarrassing things so that the stage hypnosis looks to have some mysterious powers at work. However, what these volunteers are doing is merely continuing to volunteer to comply with the instructions of the stage hypnotist. The stage hypnotist will even go so far as to tell the people that they will not remember anything that they had done on stage, and when the people seem to come out of trance, they do as the stage hypnotist told them and act as though they can't remember anything that had taken place.
A stage hypnotist is a entertainer and not a real hypnotist. All he does is gather a bunch of volunteers who want to be hypnotized and then he sorts out the volunteers who will not voluntarily do everything the stage hypnotist instructs them to do. This means that people are not hypnotized during stage hypnosis shows because they are only pretending to be hypnotized.
There is little distinction between an actor and a volunteer at a stage hypnosis show. What this means is that stage hypnosis is not a type of mind control or covert hypnosis, it is merely a kind of entertainment.
