The ovarian cyst is a sack that forms on the lining of the ovary on the outside or the inner part of the lining that is filled with a fluid. The problem comes when the woman has no clue that they have any kind of problem because the symptoms are not really understood. If there is an ovarian cyst rupture, this is risky health issue that needs the immediate attention of a physician. Often the recommendation will be of have a surgical procedure to remove the cyst.

The menstrual cycle is affected by the ruptured ovarian cyst. The cycles will be much different than normal, either longer or shorter. There is also pain in the pelvic area that accompanies the period both after and before it begins. The bleeding will usually be different also with it being either lighter or heavier than a normal cycle.

Occasional sharp pains in the abdomen can also be a symptom of the ruptured ovarian cyst. If the abdomen is touched it may be tender, even painful to the touch. This is usually only in the lower region of the abdomen and close to the pelvis area. Bloating and a feeling of fullness may also accompany the pain in the abdomen.

Another sign of the cyst that burst is problems with digestion. There is excess gas and either over action or under action of the bowels. The person usually feels very full all the time even if they have not eaten and this causes a loss of the desire for food and weight loss. There is usually vomiting and nausea as signs of problems.

Fatigue can set in making the person feel tired during the day and can lead to experiencing feeling lightheaded and just week in general There can also be periods of dizziness and disorientation.

When the ovarian cyst ruptures there can also be a feeling of pressure that affects the bladder and the bowels. Frequent urination is the result and the urinary stream becomes weak and it is hard to empty the bladder.
