For the 3rd consecutive year, DVS Shoes and the Copenhagen Skatepark have joined forces up to create one of Europe’s greatest growing contest events-the CPH Professional. Boasting one of the largest prize purses in Europe, this year’s event is set to take place in June.
Once again the top pro skateboarders from around the world will congregate on Copenhagen, Denmark for a weekend of heated pro competition on an all original course-great cuisine, free beer, and loads of enjoyable times. Keep the date!
TransWorld Skate boarding held its initial once a year Skate & Create contest. In a nutshell, the contest consists of four teams of four pros, one amature, a photographer, a videographer, and an art manager. Each team is locked in a warehouse for 9 days with a smorgasbord of ramps, rails, banks, and boxes. The skaters that can come up with the most imaginative set concept, skate obstacles, photography, skateboarding, and capture on film places 1st.
All teams involved produced mind-blowing videos and brilliant photos, but following the judging was said and completed it was DVS that emerged as the winner.
In admiration of its accomplishments, DVS has launched a Mini-Website that showcases its contest video, a behind-the-scenes video, point and shoot images, as well as brief interviews with the creative minds behind the project.
23-year-old Andrew Brophy has been skating on team DVS internationally for some years now, but the six-foot-four man-child has gotten so damn good at skateboarding that we decided to remove him from the outback of Australia and put him on as a full blown domestic US professional. Now all we have to do is get him a Travel permit so he does not get deported back to the bush.
