The most popular technique employed by green screen software is in movie making. Superheroes can jump off buildings or can be quickly transported across the globe in a second. They can avoid getting injured and appear indestructible. This is all accomplished with the use of a green screen and then any background can be manipulated into the background as a director so desires. This practice is often used on television. The weatherman can appear to be in a different part of the country as he reports the weather in that location. He never leaves the studio. The background can be anything like a map, simulated raindrops or clouds. It cost less than traveling to all these different locations and is easy to use.

Most all of the networks use this technology with their weather being reported in front of an animated world. The application is very simple and all one needs is a camera, a green screen, and video editing software. The subject should be the same color all they way through without any deterrence of color. Even a small change can make it harder to edit the final image. The exterior of the material or wall should be smooth without any exceptions. This can also add to difficulties when editing. While using this technique you should be aware of the subject containing a small part of green or similar tone. It is easier to hide or minimize rough edges when the subject has a small green portion. Any parts that look uneven can be corrected as long as the subject has some of the color on it. If the color is any larger, the image will look distorted.

When the green screen has been erected, the next step is to being shooting the subject. The subject should be well defined to help make the final image look perfect. It is then easier to trace and remove the subject from that image and place it in the new background. All of the edges should be smooth and the lighting should be adequate. The background should not be focused on with the camera but it should target the subject. It needs to clear what the subject is when it is time to edit the picture. You can achieve good results with outdoor pictures with this technique.

Your editing software comes with tips and hints and you can find many websites with some of the same information.
