Pole Position allowed players to compete against other track cars for the first time and it took driving games to a new height by improving the graphics, scrolling and the capability to drive authentic circuit layouts, in color! A few years later on, around 1986, driving games really starting to hot up with the likes of Out Run, a game that put you in the seat of some of the globes best sports cars whilst combing big graphics with realistic, albeit arcade style, pumped fueled game play.
