Do you have a little princess or a racing car driver for a kid? You can change your little princess’ room into a magical land complete with a castle. Your racing car driver can suddenly but put right in the middle of NASCAR. The imagination can go wild with wall murals. If you can paint, you can create one on your own. Some people prefer to hire professionals so that mural will look flawless. But what ever you decide, it can be easy to accomplish the look you want with kits, wall murals or even paint by number kits.

A paint by number kit can be just what you need for a child’s room. Many contain a pattern transfer sheet that you place on the wall and fill in with paint. It all comes in a kit so there is nothing extra to buy and it takes no time at all to complete. If you have the ability to create designs of your own, you can paint your own mural. A local artist could also do the job for you if you prefer. Many can be found on the Internet.

Wall murals can make a room even more personal and unique. You can use your own photographs and have them made into a mural to place on the wall. Wall murals aren’t difficult to apply but you should read the directions carefully and follow the directions exactly. If you fail to follow the instructions, it could lead to tears and even bubbles in your mural. Hanging the mural can be easy and you also want to make sure the wall is clean. Even fresh coats of paint can make the mural stick to the wall better. These murals have special adhesive that must be used and you should apply thin coats to avoid any tears. If you use too much plaster it can weaken the paper of the mural which may lead to rips or tears.

Some of the tools you will need include a ladder, bucket or container, brush, cloth, ruler, yardstick and plumb line. The plumb line is used to help in creating lines for placing the panels in the correct area so that it is even. The murals are separated into panels that are to be applied one by one.

Murals are beautiful and there are many styles and types to choose from. If you are bored with the plain walls, you can change the look in a weekend with wall murals.
