There's a new disaster movie out called 2012 and it is a special effects work of genius. There are numerous tidal waves, buildings destroyed, and prominent monuments ripped to rubble.
The thought for the movie came from an old prophecy that the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012. This date coincides with the end of the Mayan long count calendar and some illogical folks have taken that to mean that doomsday will come about.
Other predictions stem from Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce, the Hopi Nation, and modern day prophets.
Believers of the armageddon prophecy offer distinctive versions of the end of days. The most popular claim involves a mystifying planet called Nibiru or Planet X and that it will soar into the inner solar system and either hit the Earth or come close enough to cause worldwide desolation. Picture gigantic tidal flooding, earthquakes, or the Earth spiraling out of its solar orbit and into the depths of outer space.
Other “prophecies” include:
The Earth's poles will invert causing the ice caps to melt, bringing about environmental flooding, covering the ENTIRE world in water.
The planetary alignment and tremendous amounts of radiation being thrown out of the sun, doing devastationto our planet… and us.
You’ve probably read many morevariations of these prophecies about what will occur in 2012… but are they just that? Just prophecies?
Some even say that NASA has known about the unknown planet since the early 1980s but has covered it up to avoid widespread terror. Not surprisingly, NASA denies these claims.
Other versions of the armageddon scenario involve gamma ray bursts destroying the Earth's magnetic field, a galactic alignmentdisturbing Earth's orbit, a 180 degree pole shiftthat would literally redraw the planet's maps, comet impacts, and a massive solar radiation burst that would destroylife on Earth.
All of these scenariosmight be devastating to Earth. But are they really possible? Or are they just half-baked theories with some pseudo-science mixed in to make them sound reasonable?
I presume we will have to pass the time and see what happens. Will the 2012 planetary alignmentbring destruction or will it benefit the human race allowing a renaissance and purification? I choose the latter! We manifest what we think.
