Flowers play an integral part in any wedding ceremony. More than just a decoration though, wedding flowers have now become a tradition. In fact, can you even remember the last time that you went to a wedding at which there was not any flowers?

They are more than just something nice to look at; they represent new hope and a prosperous future. The bride feels her wedding to be akin to a fairy tale if the preparation and presentation of the flowers is done correctly.

Not just any flowers presented in any way will suffice for a wedding though; preparing wedding flowers requires a special approach...

1) The Selection Of The Flowers

In picking what flowers to choose, keep in mind the theme and the color premise of the wedding. The flowers should complement the other aspects of the wedding, not distract from them, and so a good idea is to match and blend the flowers with color and style of the brides dress. Another point to consider is the availability of the flower type. Depending on the season, you can order the freshest, the most available and the cheapest kind of flowers. Flowers like babys breath, orchids, gardenia and roses are readily obtainable no matter what time of the year.

2) Additional Materials

The bouquet that the bride carries on the aisle is where the flowers play a major part. It is very easy to create your own. First, gather up your materials. You will need about three dozens of your chosen flower, a sharp scissor, florist tape, and ribbons.

3) Creation Of The Bouquets

There are various ways that you can put your flowers together to make a beautiful bouquet, but here we will look at just the most popular one. Start by choosing three flowers that you want to use as the centerpiece of your arrangement. Puff air into the center of each flower to give it a fuller look. Put them together, creating a triangle. Stack each flower unevenly; each one should have a slightly different level of height. This technique adds dimension to your arrangement. Continue to add two or three flowers at a time to this initial triangle, until the arrangement resembles a dome. After which, you can tie them up with a florist tape at least 8 inches below the flowers. Be sure to ask for some help taping the stem; you might have a difficulty holding all 36 flowers and tying them together at the same time.

4) Finishing Touches

Adding ribbons to the flowers and tape should be done to cover up any unsightly parts and to highlight the colors of the flowers. Then carefully cut the excess stems and ensure that they are all even in length. Place the bouquet on a plastic container or a vase with a quarter inch of water or you can store them inside a fridge covered by a loose plastic bag. Finally, spray the flowers with water avoiding the ribbons.
