Usually, when a courier says that they don't make home pickups, they are referring to the homes that are located in the residential areas of the city, especially if they are in the suburbs, far from the majority of the businesses. On the other hand, someone that lives in a downtown condo might be able to negotiate in home pickup even from a courier that doesn't specifically offer that service.
The only other thing to be aware of is that you sometimes might get charged extra for in home pickup. Not all couriers offer this, and because those that do may still have to deviate from their regular routes considerably to make the pickup. They usually charge an extra fee for this type of service, so be sure to ask how much it will be.
