If you have a problem of excessive sweating in your armpits, it can often create a disturbing and embarrassing situation. There’s much difference between normal sweating and excessive sweating. Sweating which occurs during the physical exertion involved in activities like sports or exercises, is quite normal and common to anyone. Whereas if you sweat profusely when you’re doing nothing but just sitting, then you have to accept that yours is a sweating problem. Your life can be affected to a great extent by this excessive sweating, as it is likely to disrupt your social and personal life.

Finding a solution for your sweating problem will make you feel hopeful and will change your life for the better. If the sweating problem seems to be chronic, then there are certain medical procedures like ETS or Botox treatment, about which your physician will discuss with you and recommend whatever treatment found suitable for you.

Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy, also known as ETS, is a surgery done on the body‘s nerves causing the excessive perspiration in the armpits. Botox treatment is a common cosmetic surgery procedure for the treatment of wrinkles. When it is used to treat excessive perspiration, an injection of purified botulinum toxin in small doses is administered to the armpits or the area of sweat secretion. This treatment has to be repeated after an interval of 6 – 12 months. As with all injections and surgeries, these treatments are likely to produce side effects and/or allergic reactions. Such side effect or allergic reaction should be reported immediately to the doctor and should be treated if the necessity arises.

Certainly it’s not attractive when we see people in their best outfits taking part in a lunch meeting at a local restaurant or diner, with big and noticeable sweat patches around their armpits. Many Hollywood celebrities have been put to great embarrassment by the publication of their pictures in which the beauty of their dress has been clearly overshadowed by the sweat patches under their arms.

Antiperspirants are useful in controlling perspiration, but they tend to clog the sweat glands. Deodorants may not be so effective because they have been made to deodorize, i.e. prevent unpleasant bodily odors from, your armpits as is evident from their nomenclature. A sweating problem shouldn’t be allowed to control your actions, attitude and attire in your life. If you want a remedy for your excessive sweating, you have to accept that you’re having the problem and tell your doctor that you require his/her help to overcome the issue.

You can try some of the various non invasive methods to prevent sweating and find out the most effective one among them. If everything else ends in failure, then the last resort can be surgery. When someone suffering from excessive sweating finds the solution which can cure the malady, they will feel greatly relieved. These people, who had to endure so much hardship due to their sweating problem, when ultimately relieved from their predicament, are sure to enjoy a brand new life with much relief and happiness.
