School is out and the weather is warmer, making June the ideal month for enjoying outdoor activities for all ages. Instead of waiting until the weather is too hot to enjoy the outdoors, June is a great time to enjoy some vacation options. Here are a few suggestions for how to enjoy the month no matter what your budget may be:
For Families on a Budget
•Check with your child’s school to see what types of summer programs they may be offering. This is an especially good option for families with two working parents so that children have the opportunity to enjoy their time off from school in a structured way.
•Check to see what programs are offered at your local library. They usually have a variety of activities for children of all ages. They can enjoy story telling and arts and crafts.
•Community colleges will often offer courses during the summer that are for children to allow them to learn something new and fun during their break from school.
•There are a lot of different types of sports camps during the summer break and they are a great way for children to brush up on their skills or to advance to a new level. If they truly love the sport, it will be a great way for them to spend their summer.
For Families Looking for Full Fledged Vacations
•Go on a family cruise. This is the ideal time to travel to exotic or tropical locations that will be too hot to enjoy to the fullest extent during the later part of the summer. Family cruises are available with kids only facilities, counselors, planned activities and babysitting. There are even those for families with kids under the age of seven. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the activities each of you likes without having to worry about where the kids are or what they are doing.
•Go to one of the world’s favorite theme parks on whichever coast is closest to you. The parks aren’t as crowded as they are in the later summer months and the heat isn’t as much of a hindrance to enjoying the sites. Lines may still be long but not as long as they are during peak times and you won’t be so miserable standing in them as you would in July or August.
•Go Nascar camping at the Earnhardt Acres Campground in Brookland, Michigan. If you are great fans of the sport, then you will enjoy your stay whether you rent a camper or RV or rough it in a tent. There are many activities for the entire family in the area including outdoor recreation, museums, golfing, shopping, and dining. There are also lots of interactive exhibits in honor of the automobile. Camping starts at the campground in June and groups and pets are welcome!
•If Nascar isn’t your thing or the camp is too far to travel, then look for alternates that are a little closer to home. You will find that an internet search will bring you all the details of camps and campgrounds that are designed to entertain family members of any age!
When planning the activities you and your family will enjoy during the month of June, keep in mind the milder weather that many of your favorite destinations have to offer in the early part of the summer break.
