The Hungarian cuisine is also known as Magyar cuisine. The Magyar is an ethnic group in Hungary. It also includes staples like caraway seeds, noodles, potatoes, cabbage, and onions. Sour cream and cream are also used in the Hungarian cuisine. The locals also love meat, preferably beef and pork.

The farms in the country are able to produce sufficient food for the people, except during times when there is little rainfall. The use of spices is quite common, especially paprika. The Hungarian meals are famous for their fiery color and unique taste.

The soups are part of the Hungarian cuisine. The meals consist of three courses and the soups are served first. Popular soups include Palocgulyas, Jokai bean soup, and the Fisherman's soup.

The main dishes usually include meat with rice garnishing, pasta, and potato. A good example is the Porkolt that is made up of beef, pork, chicken, or mutton. You can also try the game dishes and goose liver delicacies. Pastas are also famous like that of Szilvasgomboc, Palacsinta, and Turogomboc.

For those with sweet tooth, you should try the cakes and pastries. The Dobod torta, Rigo Jancsi, and Eszetehazy torta are very popular. Enjoy this cuisine!
