So you've decided to invest in a karaoke machine. If you look into the options available these days, you will quickly find out that there is an endless amount of possibilities. Shopping for a karaoke machine without knowing what karaoke equipment to look for would be like window shopping for a new car. You have to know what you are looking for, which machine best suits your need. Here are some different choices to take into consideration.

SPEAKERS:

Where will you be primarily be using this? Do you already have really good speakers in the room? Could they be used for karaoke equipment? If so it might benefit you to look for a karaoke machine that will accept external speakers, so you can use your other speakers instead of the ones that come with the machine. If you will need the speakers, there are a few different things to consider. Most all-in-one karaoke machines are much like boom-boxes compared to stereo equipment. The convenience can often take the place of quality performance. Generally speaking, with electronics, you get what you pay for. Using a completely portable karaoke machine might seem great, just don't expect to hear it from very far away. The bigger your room, the more you should look into a karaoke machine that comes with multiple speakers, preferable ones that are separate from the main console. This way you can move them around to get the most sound out of the space you have.

SCREEN:

This would be another thing you should consider based on the primary space it will be used. There are plenty of karaoke machines out there that come with a built in screen. However, most of these screens won’t be much bigger than 7 inches. If you have a different T.V. screen around that is bigger, why pay for that tiny screen you won’t use? These days, T.V.s are much lighter and easier to utilise for things like this.

POWER:

Again, where you are using this could affect the model you get and the equipment you should look for. Do you have a power source readily available? If not, you should make sure to look for one of the many models that can be battery operated. This might not be a bad option regardless, because most battery operated karaoke machines will come with a power cable as well. So you will always have the option to go completely portable if you need to.

These are going to be the biggest factors in choosing a machine with the right karaoke equipment. There are tons of other features available on this machine. One other thing to mention is the audio input. Most new machines will have a input for an MP3 player, which is great because I haven't anybody strolling around with a Walkman for quite some time. If you're buying a used machine this might be something to keep your eye out for. Being able to simply plug your iPod into the machine and go will make this a heck of a lot easier on you. Remember, when looking for a karaoke machine, look past the flashing lights and little features. Focus on the biggest parts of the machine. If you choose a machine with the right equipment for your needs then you will be happy with your purchase.
