This is an ideal place to come if you are looking at some UK weekend breaks and you want something exciting to do while you are here. The Cheltenham Racecourse is just north of Cheltenham itself and is easy to reach. It is just off the A435 and it is well signposted.
What is even better is that charming villages and locations in the Cotswolds such as Bourton on the Water and Moreton in Marsh are just out to the east of the racecourse. This means you should have plenty of Cotswolds cottages to choose from and stay in during your long weekend away.

So what can you expect from the horse racing itself on the 11th and 12th December? Well, once you have left your Cotswolds holiday cottage you can look forward to seeing plenty of great races on the course at Cheltenham. For example there is a great hurdling race that takes place on the Saturday, and it is quite something to watch as you witness the horses going round the course. Both days feature a number of races that are worth seeing though, so you might want to start thinking about which horses to have a flutter on!
There are several restaurants available at the course as well, and if you are quick you might be able to book a complete day out that includes a delicious lunch as well. If you visit the Cheltenham Racecourse website you should be able to book your places online, and of course there is plenty more information there about the race as well.
This would provide a great centrepiece to a good weekend away in the Cotswolds. And with plenty more to do in the area you can spend a day at the races and a day exploring one or two of the many charming villages the Cotswolds has to boast of as well.
Don t forget to book your Cotswolds holiday cottage as well though. There are plenty of them available and as you can see they are never too far away from Cheltenham itself. The racecourse is perfectly placed to give you a sensational day out without encroaching on the peace and quiet you want from a UK weekend break.
