Packing for trips became so much easier when I realized I could take dozens of books along on my Kindle, without carrying books in my carry-on bag. I've also loved the ability to by books as soon as they're released, often for far less than the hard-cover price. And I subscribe to a couple of magazines that are wirelessly delivered to my Kindle and travel with me easily. Finally, the Kindle displays books in a way that is true to the look of ink on a page -- without a backlight, and without the eye strain that comes from staring at a screen that more closely resembles a computer. The Kindle is a great gift for any avid reader.
For the Stressed Out Lady
If you're shopping for a lady who needs to get rid of work-related stress, or for a girl who just loves a back massage -- and trust me when I tell you that I've never met a girl who doesn't crave a relaxing back massage -- find a local spa that offers massages. A gift certificate for a massage is a gift that's a guaranteed hit, period. If you can't find a spa or can't afford to subsidize a high-end massage treatment, consider getting some massage oil and a massage book and learning to give a killer massage yourself. A "gift certificate" for a massage from you will successfully woo your girlfriend or impress your wife and score you major points in the process.
For the Luxuriating Lady
If you're shopping for a girl who likes a good bubble bath, get her something that will make her bath more luxurious and relaxing.
