How much does driving in 4 wheel drive lower the MPG from driving in 2 wheel drive? For a 2005 Jeep Liberty, does driving in 4 wheel drive cut its MPG in half, since twice as many wheels are operating? If not, about how much MPG is lost? Actually, the four wheel drive is used for snow and ice.

It drops by 2-6mpg driving in 4wd isn't very smart because your universal and transfer case aren't made for pavement. In 4WD it gets 10-14mpg, but in 4WD you should not try to exceed 45mph or you'll run the chance of damage the transfer case and transmission. A Liberty in 2WD gets about 15-18mpg highway. If you are using the 4WD for snow and ice, which is exactly when you should be using it, chances are you're only doing up to 35mph anyway, so it is possible to get higher-end mileage, 14mpg or a bit more, if you're easy on the gas and brakes, and are on relatively flat roads.

My friend was driving my car and got a red light ticket. Who should pay? I was tipsy so I let my friend drive my car. She drove through a red light and got a camera ticket. She was totally sober, by the way.

She was the driver so she should take full responsibility. She didn't run the red light at your advice, did she? So.Sorry, but she has to deal with it. Well she should pay. Here bad driving has nothing to do with the favor of driving a drunk friend home. You shouldn't feel guilty or obligated to pay at all. If you can see that she was driving in the picture show the picture to the judge. They should let you off if it is obvious that it isn't you in the picture.

Does anyone know where I can buy driving gloves? I'm looking for a store that carries them rather than purchasing them online. I've tried a lot of department stores and no luck.

Otherwise, the only place I would know where to go would be a car dealership where they do sell driving gloves. It's hard to find things in stores these days, everything is on the internet. I own a pair of leather driving gloves I bought at the gap a while ago, I don't know if they still sell them, but you can check. Pep Boys used to sell them, but have discontinued and now carry gloves that are called Mechanix Gloves; they are very close to being like the drivers gloves they used to sell. I bought a pair of the Mechanix Gloves from them yesterday for $10.

It could be either for a short relaxed drive or a fast paced song for those speed demons out there. What is the best driving anthem ever? Just wondering what most people think the best song to drive to is.

Anyone have a story about being pulled over by police for drinking and driving and gotten away with it? Did you have a field sobriety test? Did they want you to blow in a breathalyzer? Did you have a good story to convince the officer of your sobriety? What had you been drinking?

He was completely sober (blew a 0.0) and they gave me the sobriety test and passed. They knew how much I had (4 hard alcohol drinks) and didn't feel good about ME driving, but since it was clearly a lesser of 2 evils, they drove me back to the party and let me go as long as I didn't drive myself. I was once a passenger of a permit driver and forgot about "the rule" and needed to go somewhere so I had him drive.
