Audi is one of the German Automakers and Audi A3 is their production. Many people received it with thorough appreciation when it was widely released in the market. It is a luxury and family car that started becoming immensely popular. Based on the feedback and the positive reception, many improvements have been done to the first generation of Audi A3 and upgraded second version was soon released. Volkswagen A Class car also has similar characteristics and features as both these versions of the Audi A3. Audi A3 was actually released based on the Volkswagen model as both come under the German Automakers manufacturers. Audi TT, Volkswagen Golf, Touran are the other similar car groups having similar properties.

First Generation A3

This car was the first model of the first Volkswagen group, closely resembling to the Golf model. The first generation of Audi A3, in order to look sportier than the Golf, was initially started with a three door hatch back body, in both the two wheel and four wheel drive. Transversely mounted engines with inline four cylinder configuration were designed for the cars in this generation model. This Audi generation car was the second to use the five valves per cylinder, after the release of Audi A4.

Many major changes and upgrades were done to this car later on in 1999. Powerful 1.8 Turbo rated 180 PS engine was introduced later. But due to the customer and the market demand, it had to again come up with a five door hatchback body which was not its intention initially.

Second Generation A3

Second generation Audi A3 was next launched in 2003 Geneva Motor Show. This car came up with four cylinder engines and three door hatchback body initially. Later a two door convertible was also introduced and five door Sportback model came up in 2004. One could clearly feel the difference with the new front grille. The rear cabin space was also improved in this model.

A new 1.4L TFSI engine was later introduced in 2007 and a new “e” model machine was launched based on the Volkswagen’s BlueMotion. This was a much more ecological car with minimum CO2 emissions. New changes were again made in the year 2008 where the model received a new revised nose and tail styling, modified grille and even the ‘trademark’ daytime running lights.

Today, the tuning of the Audi A3 has become quite simple. The engines of this small but luxurious car are built using powerful 1.9TDI (105 hp) and the 2.0 TDI (140 hp) engines. Five different types of gas engines can be chosen starting from 106 (102 hp) up to the 3.2 liter Quattro with 250 hp (184 kW). Acceleration and torque have been improved with the release of such versions and these generation cars also have tremendous fuel economy. A very small amount of tuning is required to make the Audi A3 one’s very own.

Audi S3 model also comes with a high piece engine. One can get smoother ride one expects while driving the Audi S3 model making it a wonderfully remarkable vehicle. Tuning the car to one’s desires and needs helps in getting the amazing look and performance to this car.
