Replacement of tires of cars and that of a lawn mowing machine is not the same. The basic points of difference are as follows. First, lawn mowers don't carry spare lawn mower tires like car drivers. Second, equipment required for replacement of tires like spanners, jack etc. may not be readily available. Furthermore, assistance from family members can be taken to replace lawn mower tires. Lastly, there is no change to replace flat lawn mower tires and leaving the mowing machine as it is wont trouble anyone else.

Tire Changing

If any of the lawn mowing tires has got punctured on an uneven surface, avoid changing the tire at the same very place. Based on the location where one of the lawn mowing tires got punctured, you may alter the tire changing procedure a little bit. However, you should not violate the safety precautions. If you are in possession of a movable air compressor (even a manual one is good enough), try inflating the lawn mowing tires and moving the lawn tractor to an even surface

The following steps should be following to change the flat tire. First, bring the tractor on an even surface and keep it parked. Switch off the engine. Put the hand brakes and take out the keys of the tractor for preventing it from re-starting by accident. Next, wipe the tire clean that you wish to replace and wash its surrounding area with water. This will remove any dirt settled in the nuts and help you to easily take out the tire. Then, loosen the grip of the nuts that are holding the lawn mowing tires. Make sure that all screws have been loosened. I you have forgotten even one, it will create problems later. Do not completely remove the screws.

If you are not successful to loosen all the nuts, get a professional to help you. Make sure that all the other wheels are locked with wheel locks or planks or stones. This will make them immovable. At least, wo wheels should be immovable. Also, elevate the flat tire and place the crew jack or hydraulic jack at a suitable region on the mowing machine's chassis. Next, remove all the screws and extract the tire. You may not be successful doing it all by yourself as lawn mowing tires are bigger than car tires. Finally, replace the tire and get the flat tire repaired.

Safety Precautions: In order to prevent your hands from being injured, wear gloves. Furthermore, Never change the flat tire on a rough surface. There have been many instances when the person has tried to change tires on uneven surfaces and have got crushed to death beneath the lawn mower.
