If you intend to replace the basin in your bathroom, select one in lighter colors. Darker colored sinks is bound to show the hard water stains, soap scum and water spots. You find yourself cleaning your bathroom sink more than once a day. So when deciding on a color for your sink, make certain that it will be light in color.
Also if you intend on changing the color scheme of your bathroom and you want to get colored fixtures, you will want to make sure you get the fixtures before you begin your remodel. There's some effort associated with finding different colored fixtures and also there may be some waiting time after you ordered them. If you don't seem to be very picky, just buy white or off white colors. There are plenty of your common white fixtures in any home design center. It is then easy for you to replace the fixtures when the time comes.
Whenever you add tile on your new shower stall, remember that you may need to wait a few days so that the glue can dry. So if it took a week to redo the bathroom, you may need to wait several more days to use the shower. You'll find yourself performing more work if you add tile to your shower stall than if you didn't.
And one last thing to consider is be sure you have a friend nearby that can let you use their bathroom while you work on yours.
