Appearing in trade shows is a good way to advertise products. However, the attendance in trade shows can also be used to advertise on the web. You can advertise the trade show and even gain more traffic for your website. Instead of using trade shows as a separate advertising venue, you can use the two together in order to capitalize on your marketing expenditures.

Create a Separate Trade Show Page Early

The first thing you can do upon deciding that you will participate in the trade shows is to create a separate page for it. In fact, this page should be done at least four months prior to the show. This will benefit your website as this will give search engines time to crawl your site. When people search for news and details for the particular trade show you are joining links to your website would be shown. The more time you give the search engines to crawl and index your website, the better will you rank in searches. When people get your website, they may even be enticed to click through your website as well. This would gain you more traffic and surely more exposure for your products as well.

To maximize your site exposure, you could simply announce that you are attending the so and so trade show. And then you should provide a link for the details of the trade show. The link should lead to your separate web page for the trade show instead of the trade show website itself. This would help you get links to your site when searches for the trade show are made. Just make sure that the page is properly constructed for better indexing. By doing so, your link would rank high in the searches. Whether individual consumers or business executives are searching for the details they would be lead to your website. This will surely add exposure for your website.

Help Clients Find You

The trade show page should be informative as well. It should contain the complete address of the trade show venue and the dates and time of the trade show. More importantly, do not forget to indicate your booth number so they will know how to find your booth. It would even be better if you provide a map of the floor area so it would be easier to find you. Again, making the page early at least 4 months before the trade show would benefit your website more. This would not only give you a chance to show potential customers where to find you. But it would also give your website a chance to get indexed for searches regarding the trade show.

Use Email Marketing

If you have a marketing list, you can also use email marketing to invite existing and potential customers to the trade show. To even entice them to show up at the exhibit, you can offer incentives to them like offering freebies and discounts for attendance. Some would offer free Internet service at the exhibit as well to make visitors come and stay longer.

You can also use email marketing to follow up on potential customers after the trade show. You can send emails to make a pitch. Instead of the standard sales pitch though, you can personalize the messages since you have just made contact with the people you are communicating with. By doing so, you can build relationships and even leverage and capitalize on the trade show as well.
