M&M's candies are tiny rounds of milk chocolate covered in a solid candy covering with an "M" printed in the centre of every candy. They were the creation of Forrest Mars Sr. The story goes that Forrest Mars travelled to Spain throughout the Spanish Civil War and observed that the soldiers were eating small rounds of milk chocolate that were covered with a stiff sugar coating which disallowed the chocolate from melting, these were the Nestle Smarties. He decided to formulate a comparable kind of candy with his associate Bruce Murrie, the son of the president of Hershey Chocolate Corporation.

Your kids would definitely love these gigantic cookies with their crisp edges and spongy and chewy centres. To prepare M&M's cookies, here are few easy steps.

First, you'll need the following ingredients:
2 cups (270 grams) all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup (180 grams) of unsalted butter
2/3 cup (140 grams) of granulated white sugar
2/3 cup (150 grams) securely crammed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 1/2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
1 cup (200 grams) M&M's

Preheat your oven to about 360 degrees F. Put one oven rack in the top of the oven, and another rack in the bottom of the oven. Then, queue two baking sheets of parchment paper. Finally, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl.
With your electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars until it becomes light and fluffy for about 2 - 4 minutes. Rub down the sides of your bowl. Add the egg, the egg yolk, then beat them until they combine. Pour in the vanilla extract.

Slowly add the flour mix to the creamed mixture and hit them just until they integrate. Again, scrape down the sides of the bowl as necessary.

Shape dough into balls, using 1/4 cup for every cookie. Lay six balls of dough on every baking sheet. Smoothly flatten every ball of dough into about 2 1/2 inch round. Entirely cover the tops of the cookies with your M&M's and softly push the candies into the dough. Bake these cookies for about 16 -18 minutes while turning the baking sheets in the middle of baking time.
These cookies shall be done when they look light golden brown in colour. This procedure will serve you about 12 large cookies. Enjoy!
