A Cutting board
A Biscuit cutter
A Rolling pin
A large bowl
? cup of butter
? cup of milk
? teaspoon of baking soda
2 ? cups of self-rising flour

Instructions and Tips:

1. The first thing you need to do is to preheat the oven. You need to preheat it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This is done in order to avoid the long wait when you prepare the ingredients. You can also grease the baking pan to avoid the cookies from sticking but it is not really necessary.

2. Once you already have the oven ready, you can now put the baking soda and the self-rising flour in a bowl and stir them togerher. Then, add 2 tablespoons of white sugar if you would like to add just a tiny hint of sweetness in the cookies that you will make. After doing this, you can now add the butter in the mixture. The butter must be cold and solid.

3. Mix the butter and flour using a spoon or fork until the mixture becomes a bit crubly. You may use your hands to mix them together thoroughly.

4. You can make a well within the mixture and add the milk. Stir the milk with the mixture until it becomes sticky. You can also substitute milk with buttermilk. Do not overstir the dough for it will produce hard biscuits. Moreover, do not use your hands in this step for it can get sticky.

5. Just sprinkle a layer of flour on the board and you can now turn the cookie dough on it. You must knead the dough a couple of times.

6. After this, coat the bottom layer of the cookie cutter. Cut the dough into a couple of rounds. Never twist the dough as you cut the edges for they may incorrectly rise once cooked. You are free to use cups, cans or cookie cutters.

7. Lastly, once you have already cut the dough into cookies, you can now place them in baking sheets. You can now bake the cookies for at least 15 minutes or until they become golden brown.
