Below are some easy steps, tips and guidelines that you need in order for you to master the art of baking delicious and tasty cookies. The secret in making perfect cookies is to have just a small sifter and of course, with the right attitude, you will do wonders.

1. It is very important that you have all the ingredients at hand. These ingredients are margarine, eggs and butter. Have them at room temperature. This is very important because cold ingredients will actually prevent your dough from rising because it neutralizes the baking powder and soda. You must be able to put all the ingredients out of the refrigerator at least an hour before mixing all the ingredients in.

2. Instead of the conventional all-purpose flour, you must use bread flour instead. Bread flour has barley, which gives the yeast a little boost in bread recipes. By using bread flour, it will boost the baking powder and soda as well.

3. You must use the hand sifter when adding the baking powder and baking soda into the flour mixture. The reason why you need to do this is because baking powders and soda usually sit for a long period of time in your kitchen cupboard and they form clumps. Just measure them and sift them into the mix. You can buy hand sifters locally. In fact, you can find them at any store within the utensil department.

4. Do not beat the eggs. After you have cracked the eggs into the sugars and shortenings, just gently mix it with a spoon until the yokes are just broken and are slightly mixed in.

5. You must remember to knead the flour mixture first by hand into the shortening and sugar mix until the flour is thoroughly absorbed. If you feel that the dough is a bit moist, add handfuls of flour gradually until you achieve good consistency.

6. Most of the ovens do not evenly bake so you must put the timer for have the baking time to rotate the cookie sheets.

7. You must remember to take the cookie sheets out whenever the cookies are starting to turn brown on the edges. You must also remember that cookies will still continue to bake for a few more minutes after they are removed from the oven.

8. Most importantly, you have to enjoy what you are doing. This is the one thing that you have to do whenever you are doing anything.
