Well, if you're thinking of making one and you don't know how to make it, below is a nice cookie recipe that you and your loved ones will surely enjoy. An oatmeal cookie is just the right cookie for you to learn to make. It is a cookie that is loaded with oats. This is the version of a cookie that produces a chewy and crispy taste inside and out that you can also fill with chocolate chips. You can either put white or dark chocolate in it as well as chopped nuts or dried fruits. This cookie is acknowledged as the most favorite cookie to both adults and kids.

Listed below are the ingredients and instructions on how to make a delicious oatmeal cookie.

Ingredients:

* 1 large egg

* 3/4 cup or 170 grams of unsalted butter, room temperature

* 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract

* 1/2 tsp of baking soda

* 3/4 cup or 105 grams of all purpose flour

* 1 cup or 110 grams of pecans or walnuts, chopped or toasted (optional)

* 1 cup or 210 grams of packed sugar (light brown)

* 1/2 tsp of salt

* 3 cups or 260 grams of old-fashioned roll oats

* 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon

* 1 cup dried cranberries, raisins or cherries or 1 cup of chocolate chips (white or dark)

Instructions:

First, you must preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 177 degree Celsius and line at least two baking sheets with a parchment paper. To toast the nuts, you must place the nuts on the baking sheets and bake it for 7-10 minutes or until you know that the nut are already fragrant and lightly brown. Let it cool first and then chop it into pieces. In your hand mixer's bowl of electric mixer, you must beat the sugar and the butter until they become creamy and smooth. Beat them for at least 2-4 minutes. After beating the butter and sugar, you must add the vanilla extract and the egg and beat it until it is well combined. In a different bowl, you must whisk together the baking soda, salt, flour, and the ground cinnamon. After whisking, you must add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and beat it until it is well incorporated. Stir in the oats, nuts, and chocolate chips. You have the option to add dried cranberries as well. If you want a large cookie, use a 1/4 cup of batter or you can just use an ice cream scoop. Space each of the cookies 2 inches or 5 centimeters apart on your baking sheet. You must wet your hand first, and then flatten the cookie with your fingers until they are about 1/2 inch or 1.25 centimeters thick. You must bake the cookie for about 10-15 minutes or just until you see them become light golden brown around the edges. After that, you must remove the cookies from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before you transfer them into a wire rack. You can make 20 to 24 large oatmeal cookies.
