You can never go wrong with infinity jewelry. It’s the safety net jewelry to give to anyone and on any occasion. The reasons may vary. One can give infinity jewelry as a sign of friendship or love, commitment, or a symbol of family relationship. Infinity jewelry will work on your mother, your sister, your best friend, your wife, your cousin, your girlfriend, your mother in law, your auntie, your classmate, and anyone you want to give it too. Prices of these can be very affordable to high end pricey. It’s really up to you as there are many designs available for different ages.

I learned about infinity jewelry by accident. My mom gave me one when I was a teenager and I thought that the design denoted the day I was born, which was on the 8th. I didn’t think it was weird for a boy to have jewelry until a female friend noticed it and asked me why I had the infinity necklace. When I told her that it was a gift from my mom denoting my birthday, she laughed and told me it was infinity jewelry. Shocked as I was, since I was 13 around the time, I asked my mom if this indeed an infinity jewelry. She smiled and told me it could be whatever I wanted it to be. But she nodded that for most part, it was indeed an infinity sign.

As I grew older, it became a habit of mine to give someone I was courting infinity jewelry. Most of them were bracelets done in sterling silver and semi precious stone. I would go to the wholesale market, a place where nobody of my age really knew about and purchase items there. It wasn’t too expensive and after awhile I befriended the owner of the store. She was Chinese and treated me like a nephew. When she learned that I was born on the 8th, she said that it was a lucky sign. In Chinese history, the highest number—which was 9 was solely reserved for the emperor. Anyone using this number would be immediately put to death because no one, not even the nobles could use this number. These nobles and subsequently the business class had to settle for the next best number, 8, and they used it like it the number would be gone forever. Because of the shape of the number, it came out like their yin and yang sign, something infinite, with no beginning or end. And in china, the infinity design was the most popular design for a thousand years and counting. At least that was what my friend told me.

These days, I have given my eldest daughter an infinity bracelet recently. Made out of gold with some precious metals embedded on the loops, she has taken a liking to it. I always tell her that the bracelet is a sign of my love for her—it has neither beginning nor an end. As a twelve year old, she loves the gift and what it represents. It is also a mini version of what her mom has in her necklace.
