The pyramids of Egypt are most definitely breathtaking sites to see. These pyramids even until now, draw in thousands to millions of visitors to Egypt annually. Most of us are still wondering what inspired the early Egyptians to build such wonder? Also, how is it possible to build an archeological attraction that seem so flawless? Such questions led to so many theories about their construction.

First and foremost, if you are planning to head over to the pyramids of Giza, there are things to consider, especially since they are not the only pyramids you'll find throughout Egypt. Below are a few travel tips and some budget-friendly hotels near pyramids of Egypt to choose from.

Travel Tips to the Pyramids

. Make sure you pack ample supply of bottled water. Also wear sunblock and a sun hat. Since all the pyramids can be found in the desert, you need to prepare accordingly. The only shades you'll find are inside building and under the shadow of a pyramid.
. If it's your first time to see the pyramids, it is best to book a guided tour. Most tours already include transportation and expert commentary. However, bookings are usually during the peak season so you may realize how strict they get during admission.
. If you prefer a self-guided tour, you can travel from Cairo going to Giza and its pyramids. There are public buses that actually stop near the Egyptian Museum. Another option is via taxi.
. Take time exploring Giza pyramids. You'll find that the Great Pyramid of Khufu is actually the tallest. It is also the last known survivor of the original Seven Wonders of the World. The smallest is the Pyramid of Menkaure.
. Try visiting Giza's Queens Pyramids first to escape crowds of tourists. Since they are not among the many main attractions in Giza, these pyramids are not that crowded. They are located beside the Pyramid of Menkaure. They're small and quite eroded.
. It is best to hire a taxi for the entire day just to see all the pyramids. You can make that 15-mile trip to Saqqara from Cairo just to se the Pyramid of Pepi II and the Pyramid of Dioser. You can also ask the taxi driver to take you to Dahshur where you'll find the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid which was noted as the first ever Egyptian pyramid to achieve the proper proportions for an authentic pyramid.
