It is undeniable, the effect that video has on people. Which is more convincing, a person talking to you about how wonderful a product is, or reading about a person talking about that product? Of course, the answer is the first. It is much more believable and easy for the viewer to see. So, video testimonials are very effective. Why not make one? Here are a few tips that will guide you through making a video testimonial.
Obtain an account on Youtube. You need somewhere to put the videos that you have recorded and Youtube is free. It very easy and reliable to use also. Just be careful about what videos that you post because they will be able to be viewed by anyone on the Internet. But, if you're just posting your video testimonials, then that is not such a bad thing and can only help your sales!
Get a testimonial that is good. Always have your video camera on hand in case you are meeting with a client or you talk to a client and the opportunity may present itself where you can ask them to say what their experience was with your product or service. You can tell them that their name won't be published with the testimonial. They only need to state a few sentences that will help others know about the product and their experience with it. Don't pressure them into it though if they aren't comfortable in front of a camera. You only want someone who is willing, that way, they will act more natural and less scared.
Once you've tried a few different takes of the client's testimonial, you'll need to import that onto your computer. The camera manuals should be able to tell you exactly how to do this if you do not already know. YouTube will accept these types of files: MPEG4, WebM, 3GPP, FLV, WMV, AVI, MPEGPS, and MOV.
Next, you'll need to upload the video from your computer onto YouTube. Next to the search bar on YouTube, at the top, there should be an "upload" button. Click on that and you will be given instructions on uploading it. A good title is important with some tags to describe it. This helps your video to be seen easier by others.
It's really very simple, once you get used to it. You could even try and edit different testimonials together to make an interesting montage. There can even be music. The possibilities are endless. And there should be good programs that aren't too expensive to use to edit the movies. You don't have to pay hundreds of dollars for the professional editing programs. A cheaper program will suffice for your needs. Most computers come with an editing program. Macs come with iMovie and some Windows will come with Windows Movie Maker. If Movie Maker can be downloaded free if Windows users don't have it. Both of these programs have what you need to edit your testimonials.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to video testimonials. Be creative, but don't go overboard. You want something that is clear and right to the point, but still enjoyable to watch. Do all you can to stand out.
