One of the most memorable kinds of flash mob is one that has the purpose of giving tribute to someone. There's no one bigger than Michael Jackson that people would like to give a tribute to. Sure, there's a large group of people who love Michael Jackson and he's probably the main reason for many flash mobs occurring in various cities and locations across the world. However, the one in Montreal is probably the best and it's all because everyone was really involved. From kids to officers of the law, they had their own favorite Michael Jackson move to show off.

On the staircase, a number of speakers were positioned and they suddenly burst out with the opening for Beat It. The people sitting near these speakers might have jumped up in a fright at the loud sound but hearing that it's a song they know and love, they get their wits back. Someone in the crowd starts dancing. He's got Michael Jackson's moves perfectly. People start to stop and watch and others pull their cameras out to capture the moment. A lady joins this teen male and then a number of other kids.

As they're going down the stairs, you wouldn't even know how many have joined together in this flash mob. A policeman comes along and you're thinking, oh, he's going to put an end to this flash mob now. But then he faces the direction the dancers are facing and starts to dance too. It seems like many of the people sitting on the stairs are part of the mob but then the others are still sitting in awe that everyone's gotten up to dance. Secretly, they want to join in the dance too. You can see it in their eyes.

The mob breaks up at the end of the chorus and just when you think it's over, this tribute to Michael Jackson mob finds you in a different location in Montreal. At Square Victoria, there they are again, busting the same moves. A few minutes from that particular event, there they are again at Place Jacques-Cartier. Again, at Champs-de-Mars! Each and every time, the crowd gathers to see what's going on and what's happening. Although it's the same people with the same dance to the same music in this flash mob, you feel kind of overwhelmed with awe, happiness, respect and longing for the King of Pop.
