Miracles happen. This can be a miracle story about what happens when we look for the lesson in each situation. In any case, business and personal success is about perspective, overcoming adversity, and successfully managing change as well.

It was Easter, March 31, 2002 and I used to be on a hiking vacation with my husband in a California desert close to where we lived. Our baby daughter, Caroline, was supposed to have been born on this date, however there were complications with the pregnancy and we misplaced her five months earlier on October 30. Three weeks later in November, we had put my 18 ?-12 months-previous cat, "Child," to sleep. Evidently, with all this adversity we wanted a vacation.

It was now late October, 2002, and we were living in Atlanta, Georgia. We might been considering adopting a canine, yet it didn't seem proper with our travel schedules. My husband was an airline pilot, and I was a global speaker. Still, I walked into an animal shelter having convinced myself I'd "just look." Within the shelter was a relaxed, candy-confronted puppy, eight or nine weeks previous, who caught my attention. Sensing our chemistry and belief, I did what you're never presupposed to do. I put my hand into her cage. Whereas wanting up at me together with her large brown eyes, she licked my hand over and over. This innocent puppy was additionally extremely smart and obviously knew the best way to sell herself. After many minutes, I pulled away and compelled myself to stroll in direction of the door. Already in love together with her, I rotated, and there she was.still looking at me with these eyes.

A new puppy sounded fantastic, except that it did not seem to fit into the approach to life of an airline pilot and international speaker who traveled. And my husband stored telling me how a lot consideration puppies require. Nonetheless, my gut feeling was that it was fate. We have been supposed to have her. I could not cease excited about her. I was going again to the Peachtree City animal shelter later the following morning to visit.

The next day at a storage sale, smiling women walked up to me holding a puppy. As I appeared more closely, I realized this was the puppy. The same one I would been pondering of adopting. They positioned her in my arms and mentioned, "Would you prefer to adopt her? She's from the Peachtree Metropolis animal shelter. We won't have anymore pets, but she had solely two hours to live. And we have named her Pleasure as a result of she's already introduced such joy to our lives."

Pleasure fit perfectly in my arms as she gazed up at me with these pet-dog eyes. There was an inexplicable connection and unbelievable bond. I wished to talk to my husband first, even though I had a sense he'd say sure about her this time. They even provided to pet sit her for free.

Later that day, lunching with a good friend, she mentioned, "My gosh, Colleen, it's fate. You're speculated to have that puppy! Let's go see Pleasure tonight." We drove to their house and as we pulled within the driveway, my friend shrieked, "Oh Colleen, it is destiny, it is fate!" I had no thought what she was talking about. She pointed to the automobile in front of us in the driveway, and in huge letters was a bumper sticker that simply learn, "FATE." How many more "signs" did I want?! The household defined to us that night time that their son had died unexpectedly a yr earlier, that this was his automobile, his bumper sticker, and that he'd always believed in fate. They believed it was fate that I used to be imagined to have Joy. This was a miracle story about overcoming adversity, following fate and actually discovering joy.

After taking part in with this happy pet named Pleasure, I went home empty-handed that night. I needed to learn some inspirational literature, and actually think this over. In spite of everything, I wanted to make sure this puppy could be with us forever. As I pulled out this little guide with its every day word message, I gasped. In large letters, the word of the day was JOY. It was fate! The following day my husband and I brought our bundle of "Joy" home. On Caroline's anniversary, October 30, 2002, there I was with Joy sitting in my lap using within the car. And it was the only place she would sit. She refused to be anyplace however my lap.

My ex-husband and I are no longer together. Pleasure is a healthy forty seven lbs, happily living in Portland, Oregon with me and her big cat brother. Pacific Northwest surroundings is gorgeous. There's a number of family history right here and many giant fenced canine parks. My mom's cousins like to pet sit Joy since I still journey as a motivational speaker and author. They've a spacious yard and a wonderful canine of their own.

Miracles happen. The lesson of this miracle story is that ultimately, even by means of adversity, every little thing has a means of working out. Particularly if we are going to roll with the punches, belief our gut, and follow our fate. Often, we get what we need, not necessarily what we think we want. Pleasure has literally given me pure joy. She is a miracle of love. A miracle story.
