Being a member of the fairer species who happens to enjoy the game of tennis tremendously, I have to maintain a sizeable collection of tennis wear to complement both the style and the mood that I am in. Occasionally I am in a tennis dresses for women mood, and at times I'm not. In case I am not in my closet choosing from the huge selection of tennis dresses for women which I have, I could go with a pretty tennis skirt or skort and a cute matching top. Like I have said, it depends on how I am feeling at that particular moment.
When I began playing tennis I used to only wear tennis dresses. Ladies dresses for tennis were really standard when I started playing the game way back in, well let's not go there. Suffice to say that its been quite a number of years. I really think that I still to this day have a preference to wear tennis dresses over the skort and top alternative. Not that the tennis skort and top is a bad choice to play tennis in, but one way or another I have always felt that hitting the tennis ball in a womens tennis dress was more ladylike.
It's only my personal opinion but I have always thought that the look of a woman in a tennis dress to me at least, seemed to be more feminine than a simple skort and top. I am not trying to suggest that a skort or skirt is not feminine, but to me there is more of a hint of elegance to a woman in a dress whether it's an everyday cute dress or simply a regular tennis dress.
The tennis dresses for women in the present day are much more exciting than the all white sort of Wimbledon tennis dress from years ago. There's a number of manufacturers like Bolle, Adidas and Down The Line Sportswear that turn out some pretty appealing tennis dresses for the ladies. You need not have to dress in a plain vanilla tennis outfit anymore.
What is in addition wonderful about todays tennis wear is the superb materials that the tennis dresses and skirts are produced out of. These recent fabrics are a sort of wicking type of material that draws the sweat and dampness away from your body so that you're more comfortable while playing tennis. These new materials are a substantial improvement over the old stand by materials such as cotton or cotton blends. They in reality do help to keep you dryer and cooler while in the middle of play.
Tennis is such a wonderful sport and there is no reason why you should not look great on the court as well. Get something with pizaaz, something that will make you look great. After all, we are women aren't we? No matter what your choice may be, make sure that you are comfortable hitting the ball in it. Irrespective of whether you select from a skirt top combo or a selection from the lovely tennis dresses for women, enjoy your tennis game as much as you can.
