The best electric shaver for another individual isn't necessarily the best electric shaver for you. Men's electric shavers are specially designed for use on the face to remove tough and coarse hair. Women have softer, finer hair and they shave most parts of their body like underarms, legs and bikini lines so the electric shavers for women use less powerful motors compared to men's shavers. Men will probably be annoyed once they try to use women's shavers due to their slow motors, and women musn't use men's shaver because their finer hair might dull the blades and clog the mechanisms of the shaver.

There are two main types of men's electric shaver; the foil and rotary head cutting systems. Foil shavers slide a thin, perforated metal sheet over the surface of the skin. The blades vibrate rapidly to do a scissor-like action to cut hairs that go through the shaver's foil. A shaver having a rotary head cuts hairs which may poke all the way through a metal surface and its round heads have spinning blades. It's a lot easier to clean and has a quieter motor. Several shavers have a trimmer which is useful should you favor to grow mustache, beard or sideburns.

Electric shavers have a variety of power systems and the majority these days are cordless which allow pre-charging before you can get them to work. Those that can only be charged exclusively in a charging base can't be plugged in when thier battery runs down. Others have quick-charge system designed for powering them up for a 3 to 5-minute shave. You can get electric shavers with LCD or LED indicators for you to know how much battery life is left. Corded electric shavers offer constant power although some individuals consider it annoying to cope with the cord while shaving. However, you'll find several electric shavers which could be used either corded or cordlessly.

An electric shaver for dry use is a good one when you shave just about anywhere. However, a large number of men favor to shave in the shower or with a shaving cream because of the closer shave they get. Wet and dry electric shavers are available in the market for those who prefer both functions.
