In fact, there are miles of beautiful seashores right here as well. East of Destin is Sandestin, and simply beyond, a detour on Route 30A takes you on a 20 mile drive past scenic lakes, by means of towering pine forests, and into historic Florida towns. Along this leg of the route, be at liberty to stop for coffee or a snack on the Grayton Beach Leisure Space or in Seaside, a deliberate resort village made well-known in the film the Truman Show, featuring Jim Carrey.
