The 16 Door Cluster Mailbox is an excellent selection for mini malls, office buildings, townhomes, apartments, and other residential locations that wish to offer an attractive and secure mail delivery system. It is designed for sixteen separate users and has an outgoing mail slot with a weather protection flap. Each mailbox includes one or two parcel lockers which offer the users a method of receiving packages. Each mailbox unit weighs approximately 160 pounds and is 30.5 inches wide, 48.5 inches tall, and 18 inches deep. These mailboxes are designed to be user friendly as well as providing protection against vandalism and theft. They are also approved for use in all weather conditions.
The 16 Door Cluster Mailbox utilizes a front loading design of two master door panels for the Postal carrier. He/she can open both panels with a single key and deliver the mail. This method allows the postal carrier to easily and quickly perform the mail delivery. This cluster mailbox unit is manufactured to meet the United States Postal Service’s “F” specifications. They meet all requirements to be an officially licensed unit for centralized mail delivery. And these mailboxes are available in six attractive colors which include sandstone, bronze, green, black, white, and gray. The entire mailbox unit can be mounted on any base or an optional pedestal can be purchased.
The 16 Door Cluster Mailbox has several USPS approved decorative accessories to provide a more elegant and finished look for the unit. Decorative tops with a sloping design and a ball finial are available and easily mount to the top of the unit with four screws. Decorative pedestal covers are available in both short and tall versions and easily attach to the standard pedestal. These decorative accessories are available in five colors.
The 16 Door Cluster Mailbox has a number of unique features. It is constructed of heavy duty aluminum and stainless steel components which makes it very durable and corrosion resistant. It has a powder coat finish that is far more durable and long lasting than conventional paint. The front panel master doors overlap when shut which protects against theft and vandalism. The sixteen user mailboxes have ample room and measure 3 ¼ inches in height, 12 inches in width, and 15 inches in depth. The outgoing mail slot measures 11 ½ inches wide and ¾ inch in height. All locks on the mailbox unit have heavy duty five pin cylinder cam locks for additional security and three keys are provided for each lock. And all locks have a dust / rain shield for protections against the elements. Additional features to protect against vandalism include 360° wrapped hinges, improved and stronger tenant gaps, and a reduced number or pry points.
Access to the parcel compartment / locker on the 16 Door Cluster Mailbox is accomplished with a parcel locker key. When the postal carrier delivers a parcel he/she places it in the parcel compartment and locks it. The key to the parcel compartment is then placed in the individual mailbox of the recipient of the parcel. When the recipient opens the parcel compartment, the parcel key is automatically retained in the lock. The key can only be removed with a control key that is in the possession of the postal carrier.
