A person goes through acne at least once in a lifetime. Knowing the different types of acne would guide you on what type you are dealing with. This will also guide you on how to treat it and how to have a blemish free face again.
The Most Common Types of Acne
Whiteheads and blackheads are the most common types of acne. As their names suggest whiteheads are white and blackheads come in black spots. So while blackheads are generally easily to spot in fair skin, whiteheads are pretty obvious in darker skin. Both are caused by sebum, dead skin cells and bacteria. However, among the two blackheads are very difficult to remove. Meanwhile the whiteheads are easy to pop.
What happens is as oxygen enters the pores of the skin melanin in the skin reacts to it thus causing the formation of blackheads. To get rid of them you would have to pull them out from the roots. On the other hand, white heads need to be popped correctly if you don t want an infection.
Rosacea Fulminans versus Acne Rosacea
Women aging from 20 to 40 years old you are prone to this type of acne. It generally affects the same areas which Acne Rosacea affects. These are typically whiteheads and pimples that turn to sores and large nodules. It should be treated properly if you want to avoid scars. However, you should treat Rosacea Fulminans at its early signs because it spreads rapidly like fire. The only consolation you have is it stays for a shorter span of time.
Acne Rosacea, on the other hand, is more common among men and women ages 30 years old and above. It generally appears in chin, forehead and cheeks where redness and blemishes appear in the form of pimples and whiteheads. Severe cases could result to growth of extra tissue which could in turn cause bloated noses.
What Are Nodules?
Nodules are common but they are the severe kind of acne. They are generally more painful and larger. They usually appear in the neck, back and face. The thing is they usually stay for several months so they are really a bother. What s more is it also leaves scars too.
You should take time to research your acne if you want to treat it properly. You should be careful in using just any product though. It is important that you use only ones that are proven safe and effective.
Acne comes and goes so you should also know how to prevent them too. But when they occur again, you should treat them right away before they get worse. You should never wait long before treating them. Not only will you feel much worse but your expense would also be greater if you do that.
Again the key really is to stall the spread of acne. Besides, treating them earlier makes them easier to heal. You would not be bothered as much and again you would not have to take out as much money for the treatment.
