Arguably the best soccer series on consoles today, the FIFA series offers many great online options. And whether you are playing the 09, 10 or FIFA 11, there are FIFA leagues to join and compete in.

These last three versions of the FIFA series have been excellent, no where more though than with their online features. Adding to the spectacular graphics and physics are online features like being be able to play against anybody in the world, and with a community of millions playing FIFA every week, this can mean quite intense competition.

It does not matter what skill level you are, whether you are a beginner, or someone who dreams of being a professional gamer, there are leagues for players of every skill level. There are live tournaments held in many different countries, including the official interactive world cup. Each year gaming is becoming more of a competitive sport than ever before.

Before you join any of the FIFA leagues available, make sure you have played the game a bit. Get to know the basics at least, and compete a bit in the head-to-head one-off games, so you can get a feel for online play. Once you are feeling assured of yourself, then you can start finding a competition to compete in.

With regard to that, remember to enter at a level that matches up to your skill. You may feel like a superstar when competing against the computer, but live players are very different and and you may find yourself playing against teams that you are not ready for too early.

One way of playing in a league is to look In the online section of the game, where you can choose to create a league, or join an existing league. You could also be recruited by a team to play in one, or of course recruit others to play in a team with you. Depending on which FIFA game you are playing, each team can have up to eleven users in a side.

But there are downsides to the in-game leagues. They move very slowly as teams have to be online, and many times people enter the leagues but never compete. But if you are one of a bunch of friends who all have the same FIFA game, this can be an ideal way to form a league and take each other on.

The other option is joining 1 of the tournament sites that offer leagues and other FIFA competitions. Many of these put up cash prizes, and the leagues are not shown in FIFA but on the website rather. These are updated after games are played. There is normally a schedule, making things run a lot smoother. If for example a game is not played by a certain date, because a player did not make the game, the other player is awarded the points.

These leagues are normally moderated well, with all results checked and verified. And of course many of these sites, offer other tournaments other than just for FIFA, so if you do enjoy competing in them, you may even consider trying one of the other games. While sports games are the most easily accessible in this form, there are also others like First-Person-Shooters which you can compete in.

But don't forget that to succeed in a league with your FIFA team, you need to train hard and take it seriously. It can be a very rewarding experience to compete amongst other players, and if you are really good, you may just be able to call yourself a FIFA League Champion.
