I have to make a confession. I'm addicted to buying issues for the kitchen. From high tech kitchen gadgets to simple accessories, I have to have them all. In my protection, I do spend plenty of time within the kitchen and I do cook dinner rather a lot so they do get used. Fortunately I have a big kitchen with a superb work high area and lots of cupboards. If I used to be dropped on an abandoned island without any kitchen devices, I must admit that I'd most likely struggle. It isn't that I am spoiled, I simply love using them.
My kitchen is full of the things that I've treated myself to and I also obtain kitchen gadgets as gifts. It drives my husband mad! There are basic fundamentals that I update from time to time, such because the food processor and deep fryer. Now, I am not saying that an ice cream maker is essential but it's fun, as is the yogurt maker. I really like my bread maker. I can put the combination in at bedtime and wake up to the fantastic scent of freshly baked bread. The one down side is that I placed on weight as a result of the bread is so tasty. The rice cooker is very helpful too, no more sticky lumps of goo.
I like to prepare dinner dishes from around the world so my kitchen devices reflect that I have a pasta maker and parmesan cheese shaver. I additionally like Chinese meals so I have a non stick wok with all of the equipment and a bamboo steamer for fish and vegetables. Indian food is another of my favorites and I've a set of Balti cooking pans and bowls. Not all kitchen devices are the results of fashionable technology. One of my treasured possessions is my granite pestle and mortar. It's extremely environment friendly for crushing herbs and spices for my curries and I feel it is just about unbreakable.
My Espresso coffee maker saves me within the mornings. That is one of the issues I would rescue from the home if there was a fire. I insist on the perfect, sharp kitchen knives and I have an electrical knife sharpener. My knives sit in a knife block, together with the massive meat cleaver. I even have a knife with an extra thin blade for slicing salmon and ham. My other kitchen devices include a fruit and vegetable slicer, a juicer and a salad spinner.
Most of my friends grew out of the Nineteen Seventies part for fondue units, but I nonetheless like them and I have a very good cast iron one. I also prefer to make jam from the plums and blackberries that grow in my garden. I've the pan, thermometer and muslin strainer. You may't beat a superb old fashioned egg timer for making good eggs. Probably the most helpful of the kitchen devices I have is the bookshelf that holds all my recipe books!
