Andy Andrews recently spoke at a Wealth Conference I attended.. He is, in my opinion, one of the top personal mindset and development coaches in the world and I've listened to many of them in my 40 plus career.. The following are from my notes of his presentation.
As a lead in to these "7 Principles of Success", for anyone who wants to accumulate wealth or be involved in wealth building strategies, especially in our world today where financial chaos is rampant, it is very important to have the proper mindset.
Proper perspective leads to calm; calm leads to ideas; ideas lead to opportunity; and opportunity leads to self fulfillment. If you have the right perspective, these "7 Principles of Success" are a lot easier to adapt to your positive mental mindset.
1.Hope and control in your life is the result of you clearly taking responsibility for your actions and behavior. If it leads you to a place you don't like, it means that you can make the choice to do things you like.
2.Seek wisdom at all times. For example, shouldn't you be as concerned about who you hang out with as an adult as you are with those people your children hang out with? Wisdom also means asking good questions such as, "Is this a wise thing to do?" Success happens daily, not all at one time. Seeking wisdom allows you to see with a purpose and watch with a purpose.
3.Know where you are going and why, then stick with your decision. The purpose of analysis is to come to a decision. Successful people make their decisions quickly and change their minds slowly.
4.Choose today to be happy and grateful. It is tough for depression to take root in a grateful heart. A grateful heart has more to do with your success than almost anything else. No one wants to be around a whiny, depressing person. Individuals that are successful are those who other people like to be around. Most importantly, smile while you talk. You will always come across so much better. Greet all people like you are happy to see them as your recognition of them is important to them.
5.Greet each day with a spirit of forgiveness. Forgiveness is a decision, not an emotion. It doesn't matter if people know you are forgiving them. It doesn't matter if they ask for forgiveness or if they really don't deserve it. Forgiveness of others opens up the door to your personal freedom. Remember, the person you need to forgive a lot is yourself if you want to recover fast from the mistakes you will make so as to pursue, with the right attitude, your goals.
6.Make the decision to persist without exception and you will be allowed to find a way when there isn't a way. When you hit the wall, you only lack one idea and one idea can change the world. Perseverance is absolutely the key to being a success in your chosen field.
7.Make the decision to be a person of action because if you think you know the above six principles of success and don't do them, it only means that you really don't know them or don't believe in them and, therefore, will be easily distracted from pursuing your goals.
I hope the above simple "7 Principles of Success" will mean as much to you as they do to me because there is no doubt that we all possess the ability to put them into personal action for our own betterment and the betterment of those around us.
