Bloomington, MN - February 9, 2011 -- Cross Telecom, the leading provider of converged telecommunication technologies and Avaya support, is pleased to announce that it is offering Intro to SIP, a new training workshop at Cross University. The Intro to SIP workshop provides the information needed to understand the increasingly important role of SIP in Unified Communications.

Cross University provides customers with the telecommunications training and education needed to stay on top of the ever changing technologies essential to business success, with curriculum developed and provided by their highly skilled Cross Technical telecom team.

In the new Intro to SIP workshop, SIP fundamentals are thoroughly examined with particular emphasis on the benefits that SIP provides to worldwide unified communications. From SIP architecture to in-depth discussion of SIP messages, the student's experience is enhanced through hands-on guided activities and labs.

In addition to extensive examination of the SIP protocol, real-world analysis of SIP Trunking and Telephony are discussed in detail. This workshop provides the necessary knowledge to articulate the required elements, structure, and benefits of SIP.

Cross University currently offers the following training courses as part of their Intro to SIP workshop:

* SIP Defined
* SIP History / Development of SIP
* Description of SIP
* SIP Messages
* Benefits of SIP
* SIP-T (SIP and PSTN)
* SIP Trunking

All classes in the Intro to SIP series are taught over the course of two and a half days. For increased flexibility, the SIP training courses are offered at one of two locations: Cross Orlando, Florida on February 22 - 24, 2011 and at Cross's new world class training facility in Bloomington, Minnesota on March 22 - 24, 2011.
