Tetrazzini is a word that was supposed to be inspired by an Italian opera singer known as Luisa Tetrazzini. However, tetrazzini is an American dish which is mostly made of almonds, mushrooms and non red meat and this is in a sauce that is made from parmesan cheese and cream or butter. Tetrazzini is capable of making use of several vegetables including celery, onions as well as carrots and can also be infused with a wine or sherry flavor. This dish is available in several different forms which will mainly depend on the kind of meat used including chicken, turkey as well as tuna tetrazzini.

Chicken tetrazzini is one of the easiest to prepare and this has several recipes. One of these recipes is the one with a rich creamy, sherry sauce. You will need several ingredients for this and these will include 2 cups of cooked chicken breast that are chopped, 2 cups of chicken broth, 2 cups of milk, 2 cups of pre-sliced mushrooms and a 1 tablespoon of butter. You will also need 1/3 cup of all purpose floor, 1/3 cup of sherry, ? cup of chopped shallots, ? cup of grated parmesan cheese, ? cup of slivered almonds after being toasted, 1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, 2 tablespoons of grated cheese for topping, 8 ounces of spaghetti as well as salt and pepper to taste.

This dish is often served hot with any type of thin pasta which will include spaghetti. Tetrazzini can also be garnished using parsley or lemon and also topped with additional almonds or Parmesan cheese. After getting all the ingredients you can now start the process of cooking this dish. You should first preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius. You should then place a large pot of water on medium heat and wait till its roll boiling and ad salt to it. You should then add the pasta and cook as is stipulated on the pasta cover. The pasta should then be drained and set aside.

1 tablespoon of butter should then be melted at medium heat in a large saucepan and then add the ? cup chopped shallots and saut? them till they become light pink in color. You are then supposed to add 2 cups of pre-sliced mushrooms and saut? for about 4 minutes and follow this by adding flour and stir regularly to avoid lumps from forming. Milk, sherry and chicken broth should then be added to the saucepan. All these three ingredients should be blended well and let it to boil. The heat should then be reduced and let the mixture to simmer for approx 10 minutes.

You can now add the cooked chicken breast as well as the ? cup grated parmesan cheese to the mixture and cook for 1 minute while stirring. The mixture can now be removed from heat and transferred to a baking dish. You can then add the cooked pasta together with 1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, ? cup of toasted silver almonds as well as salt and pepper to taste. This mixture should then be topped with 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese. This should then be baked in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes and can now be served. And this is also one of the ways of how to cook chicken in the oven.
