Other critical nutritional properties present include niacin, thiamin, vitamin B6, vitamin C, riboflavin, iron and calcium. The consumption of carrots should not be overdone as it is prone to have side effects like hypercarotenemia where the skin becomes orange just like other types of food have side effects on the body.

So, how to cook glazed carrots the next question that we are going to tackle. There are different ways through which we can cook these carrots. People add carrots to their recipes to enhance the flavor of the final dish as well as to improve the overall appearance of the food's color. It is possible to eat carrots raw without having to cook them at all. In case you feel that the taste of raw carrots is unpleasant, you can use the following recipe. This glazed carrots recipe can serve 6 to 8 people. 1 ? cup of orange juice, ? teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of tapioca, 1 tablespoon of butter, 8 to 10 pieces of medium-sized fresh carrots, 1/8 teaspoon of ginger, ? cup of brown sugar.

Mix the 2 tablespoons of tapioca, 1 ? cup of orange juice, ? cup of sugar, ? teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of butter, 1/8 teaspoon of ginger and ? a cup of sugar thoroughly in a small bowl. Let it blend well. Place the mixture and the fresh carrots into a slow cooking electric cooker. Ensure to mix them well. Cook the carrots for some 8 to 10 hours in low heat or 4 to 5 hours in high heat. The pot should be covered during the entire process. Serve while hot.
