Snap peas can be added to any dish that you consider to be your favorite. These types of snap peas are readily available in several types and sizes with the Asian snow peas and sugar snap peas being the most popular and common snap peas. Almost all grocery stores sell these two snap peas variants. One downside of snap peas is that they are only available for some limited time during the year. This season happens to be a few weeks during late spring or early summer. Cooking snap peasis not arduous at all as you can just decide to boil them and have them with pasta. These peas can also be sorted out with some other recipe apart from pasta. The first step that you will need to do is to visit the market and buy some snap peas. Please ensure that you buy the snap peas with their pods.

Before you embark on cooking the snap peas, you will have to shell them first. Another thing is to trim up the snap pea's ends before you throw them into the pot. After you are done with the above steps, all you have to do now is to prepare the snap peas by saut?ing them, steaming them or boiling them up. If you settle on the boiling the snap peas as your preferred way of cooking them, then all that you will need is a sizeable pot where you will put the snap peas and cover them with water before bringing them to the boil till they are tender. Steaming is also pretty simple a process as all you'd need to do is to steam the peas up using a steamer till soft. The next process is the saut?ing process where you will need to have a pan with some olive oil or butter and then embark on frying the peas for 2 or 3 minutes.

After the peas have been saut?ed, boiled or steamed, they can be garnished with some basil, tarragon or mint. You can also add some pepper or salt depending on your taste and preference. If you so desire, you can drizzle up the snap peas with some sesame oil and then garnish the peas with toasted sesame seeds. Apart from the above methods, there are other ways of how to cook peas. The sugar snap peas are rather small in size as they are contained in small pods. They have a crunchy texture that is accompanied by a delicious and fresh flavor. Ensure to select the pods that are crisp and bright green in color and avoid those that seem to burst at the seams. After cutting the tail ends of the snap peas, you can just go ahead and stir fry them or even steam them. The cutting of the tops is recommended incase their ends feel tough. Steaming is ideal as it tends to preserve the snap peas nutrients intact as opposed to other modes of cooking.
