There are number of films made in the nightmare category but only a few of them influence your night's sleep. These are those that sink in to the deeper levels of your conscience and difficulty you for a particularly long time. In spite of the effect they have, if you like this class of films here are a few selected ones to make a choice from. You will definitely be struck with horror.

It is 'The Exorcist' that tops the list of the nightmare pictures. This picture is a visible kind of the novel 'The Exorcist' and this one is certain to give you goose bumps. It is brim-full of thrill and suspense till the end. It keeps you making a guess till the last moment. It has wonderful CGI effects to contribute to the terror in the flick. It is even scarier to know that some parts of the film are true situations. The exorcist was re-released with additional footage and added computer effects recently. Therefore don't miss to wear your contacts to enjoy all the visible effects.

'Jacob's ladder' is another movie that may frighten you to death. The protagonist of the movie is Jacob Vocalist, a Vietnam vet who suffers from nightmares of war. He can't figure the reason for the same and finds himself handling demons most everywhere. The best part about the flick is that you are unable to figure out what is for real and what isn't, just like Jacob. This movie will make you sweat even in biting cold. But, that minor sweating won't result in weight control. So, don't be lazy and do some exercise to lose those pounds.

If you are a weak hearted person then 'The Sixth Sense' is a total no-no for you. This one stars Joel Osment as Cole Sear who has a sixth sense to see dead folks. This one is similar to a traditional horror movie. It manages to scare you with any CGI effects. It has an amazing film script and a good cinematography. If you've a hypertensive tendency, you may be at a risk if you watch this flick. If so avoid it.

'The Innocents' is another horror flick that will frighten the pants off you. Primarily based on Henry James' book 'The Turn of the Screw', the movie draws the viewer into a creepy and enormously horrifying version of Victorian England. Taut screenplay makes you sit down on the edge of your seat till the very end of the film.

Hence try watching these films if you'd like to test your bravery. After watching them, you can realize you are not so brave after all.
