The predicament of children in contemporary Nepal is highly appalling. Starvation affects the a huge percent of kids, as half of the population is underweight. Many kids find themselves living on the streets, with no parents to guide them or supply for them. The majority of these kids end up getting involved with drugs and law-breaking, or they suffer the unimaginable fortune becoming child slaves and kid soldiers. Nearly all are subjected to one shape or another of intimate, physical or mental abuse.

There are about 40,000 street kids in Nepal, forced to survive in awful conditions. This is an dumbfounding number. These children do not have decent food or clothing, and they're forced to suffer all types of weather conditions and the environment without a protective cover over their head. A great many decease from starvation or sustain maltreatment from police when they are caught trying to steal food to exist. What is worse, these kids are prime targets for people seeking to exploit them as indentured servants or child soldiers. It is not uncommon for kids to be constrained into the inferior forms of servitude and labor. The care of these helpless kids is absolutely deplorable. Their lives are ruined by those looking to exploit and take advantage of them.

In the course of the time of war, numerous of these street kids were forced to become child soldiers. These kids now suffer from extreme mental illnesses for instance post traumatic stress disorder, and they roam the streets forming gangs and committing crimes. It's the only life they know.

Unfortunately, even children who aren't living on the streets are still infested by decrepit conditions. Poverty affects a great many Nepali families. Lots of children are denied the chance for education and rather are forced to go to work, frequently with little or no pay. These children and their families live in squalid conditions and their quality of life is really low. Some kids are even forced to beg only so they and their families posses something to eat.

TsubomiGakko Pokhara is a non-profit organization devoted to bettering the lives of Nepali children.

The organization presently supports 50 kids who otherwise would still be living on the streets. With your help they can enlarge their mission to salvage even more of Nepal's children who find themselves in awful and threatening situations. Donations will be used to pay for foods, clothing, healthcare, and school supplies. By donating to their worthy mission, you're helping better and save the lives of the most helpless members of our society.
