What are the symptoms of high blood pressure that are the most common? This can be tricky to answer because it doesn't usually have symptoms or warning signs. That's why doctors recommend that you get your blood pressure checked often, especially if you're over forty. However, in some cases high blood pressure does have symptoms or warning signs, such as the ones we'll be discussing below. The method you use to treat your high blood pressure will be based upon not just the severity of your condition but the rest of your medical history as well.

Do you suffer from nosebleeds more often than the average person, then you may find you have high blood pressure.

While you could have a ruptured blood vessel or other issues not related to your blood pressure, it is still a good thing to check. Occasionally anyone can have a nosebleed, however if yours bleeds more often then you should have it checked. Most commonly, elderly with high blood pressure suffer frequent nosebleeds, although anyone with sever hypertension can have them. If high blood pressure is causing nosebleeds, this can be a dangerous sign that your blood pressure is extremely high and needs to be controlled. In some cases, high blood pressure causes the symptoms of nausea and vomiting. Your doctor will be the best source to determine the cause of these symptoms. If your hypertension is severe you may begin to experience nauseousness and vomiting, if so seek immediate medical attention. If you are someone with slightly above average blood pressure, this is still serious and needs to be addressed, but you probably won't experience symptoms such as nausea. In most cases of high blood pressure obvious symptoms do not appear until the levels have reached dangerously high levels.

Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, is a potential symptom of high blood pressure. There are lots of different forms of tinnitus and it can be caused by lots of things that are not high blood pressure. If your case of tinnitus is stubborn and does not let up you should get checked out by your doctor because it might just be high blood pressure but it could also be an indicator of something more serious. Lots of times tinnitus is not related to any blatant medical issue and there are lots of ways to deal with its symptoms and it can be really annoying. It is really important that you make sure that your ear ringing isn't the result of high blood pressure because that condition should not go untreated. High blood pressure can have a lot of symptoms but many people do not know they have it until they go in for a checkup or to get something else looked at. You can have your blood pressure checked in many pharmacies, although to get an accurate reading you have to have it checked several times. If you are noticing any of the symptoms discussed in this article or if you know of other risk factors that make you prone to this disease you should make sure to visit your doctor and get your blood pressure checked regularly.
