Dyslexia test is classified into screening and comprehensive test. This article discusses in detail the two types of dyslexia test.

Screening Test:

This test for dyslexia is used for a large number of students to divide the group into those who don't and who need to take a comprehensive test for dyslexia. Screening test for dyslexia isn't really a valid test for dyslexia; however, it is often used by researchers to concentrate or focus on the students who are particularly having trouble with their lessons and are likely to be suffering from dyslexia. Usual questions included in the screening test are:

. Is it difficult for you to spell simple words?
. Are simple directions confusing for you?
. Do you feel reluctant going to school?
. Are simple math problems complicated for you?

Students chosen by this method could have problems or troubles with their learning for some reasons, including Attention Deficit (ADHD), emotional problems, autism, delayed learning, dyspraxia, and possible dyslexia. However, screening tests are not valid dyslexia test but can help researchers a lot.

Comprehensive Dyslexia Test:

The dyslexia test - comprehensive type examines the person wholly and tries to evaluate the main cause why the person experiences some learning difficulties. It also evaluates the functionality of the brain that hinders with the person's way of learning. Comprehension, reading, intelligence, and spelling tests, and visual test, laterality test, visual scanning test, sequencing, reversal tests, and a lot more are included in this type of test for dyslexia. The results are written in a detailed report stating the conclusion about the individual who had the dyslexia test.

A comprehensive dyslexia test can be administered either at a distance or by a psychologist.

Comprehensive Dyslexia Test at a Distance:

Comprehensive dyslexia test at a distance has the main advantage of improving objectivity wherein the psychologist stays completely objective about the performance of the child in all parts of the test as he/she has never met the person. Thus, he/she bases his assessment on the results of the test.

Comprehensive dyslexia test at a distance is similar to the comprehensive test performed by psychologists; however, distant test has been adapted so that it can be used anywhere even at home. This type of dyslexia test produces a thorough and more detailed report compared to what a psychologist normally provides.

Comprehensive Dyslexia Test Conducted by a Psychologist:

Professional psychologists give tests in schools or universities or in their own clinic. Majority of people seem to take advantage of the psychologist assessment because it has been observed that more people consult psychologists for evaluation and private assessment. This method is more direct and straightforward; hence, it is more expensive. The dyslexia test given by a psychologist is usually taken for a few hours. The psychologist will then analyze the result and give the test taker a comprehensive report which can be used for whatever purpose he may wish. The report given by a psychologist may also contain some suggestions on how a person's learning techniques can be improved.

Conclusion - the two different types of dyslexia test. Do you suspect you are suffering from dyslexia, if you do, what are you waiting for? Take any of these tests now.
