There is an expanded variance of parking passes out there today, and everywhere I look I see more and more people driving around with them on their rear view mirrors. This may not seem like that big of a deal at first glance, but try and remember that driving with anything hanging from your mirror is actually illegal, and is perfect grounds for a peace officer to write you a ticket.
While we're all supposed to be driving around without anything hanging from our mirrors, I do follow why we all seem to do it - yes, I'm just as in error as you are. Having to constantly put parking permits up and take them down, as well as keeping track of them when you're not using them is a pain. I can't tell you how many permits I've lost in this disorder than seems to accrue in my jeep. Despite this frustration, we are still supposed to take them down when we're driving.
From an office parking permit to a disabled placard, it doesn't matter. Driving with any sort of obstacle is technically illegal and potentially fatal at the same time. The reason why the laws are in place in the first place is because driving with placards and permits hanging from your rear view mirror does cut off some of your view, and in the process creates a new blind spot that you'll have to account for.
Sidestep all the frustrations and hassles that come along with parking permits and placards by getting yourself some parking permit holders! Yes, there is such a thing. We can all delight in the comprehension that there is an answer to our woes out there, and that it can be easily gained. Thanks to the stupendous thing that is the internet, we can all enjoy a less tiresome life by keeping your parking permits safe and secure.
